I was cleaning up my sewing room or should I say moving one pile of stuff to another space to pile up and wait for another day when I real have the time to do it properly ( ha ha ha ha ).

Any way I found my gorilla I made last year. It is raw edge applique quilt from "the pattern place", it only took a day to make and quilt . I brought it because the gorilla has the face both my boys get when they are concentrating on something, not that I'm saying they are gorillas but when I think about it they tend to do a lot of monkeying around or is it just a boy thing .

Now to you out there who are probably wondering why I have a picture of a motor on my blog and in a way I am too. But I want to show you what has kept my DH so busy on weekends and any other time he has free. I am very proud of him, this engine goes to a motor bike that he has bought and is doing up in the hope that I will get my licence and go riding with him. He has made one working engine from two and I tend to switch off when he starts about the bike ( I do try to listen but can't help it, the snooze button get hit every time). Now he is doing the body work when and if he stops takes the kids around on it in the back yard, the smiles go from ear to ear . I will post a picture as soon as the bike is finished, but here is a picture to do with quilting , I finished quilting it last night. It was a shop sample I made 2 years ago before I left and never got time to quilt . So Lillian sent it back with my present as she dose not need it any more in the shop.

I do like the blue and yellow, although I don't really use yellow a lot in quilts. I don't know why that is, Do you have a colour that you like and don't tend to use in quilts? I hope you have all had a great week end.

Oh I just have to share with you the lovely fabrics that arrived in the post today from my old boss ( she wont like the old bit as she isn't that old) from Tassie. Now why did I get them because it was my birthday the other day yes closer to the big 4 0 than I would like. I am going to sit on these for a while until I can think of something nice to make with them, any ideas would be much appreciated.

Sorry for not saying hello earlier but it has been one of those weeks, so sad to see my friends off, busy with work and then a trip to the doctors to be told I have Viral Tonsillitis ( I had them taken out when I was 9 go figure). So I'm afraid not much has happened on the quilting front. I was just wondering what type of design walls everyone has. As you can see mine is not to big and is just some wadding pinned on to a quilt. I don't have a lot of wall space in my room and what I do have is made so I can change the quilts quickly.

This is one I'm working on at the moment , when it is together there is big red poppy's going over the top. Lillian sent me the fabric last year and I have been thinking on what to do with it ever since. Dame shame another trip to the quilt shop for the right red to go with it as all the reds I have are a dirty red and I thing it needs a bright. Would love to hear what type of design wall you have. Is it on a wall or like one of my friends on the back of her bedroom door.

Nothing to do with quilting but what a great view, went here today. Sat in the shade and had our lunch.

What a great weekend we all have had with our friends from Tassie coming to stay. Lucky me her lovely Hubby has left me some photos of our day at Dreamworld. I know they have enjoyed their holiday and were sad to go home. I will miss them heaps but never fear they will be back next year ( can't wait).

This was the first and last big ride I went on as you can see I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Nicholas on the other hand wanted more.
This is Johns type of ride just like his mum we stuck to the slow rides.

The boys got to see there favourite characters .

Arndt and Nicholas where ever so brave and went on the big drop (YUKKKKS)

This is Jake and John I think John was trying to save Jake or was it the other way round

And last of all the big pussy cats, not sure if Harry and Binks would play nice. I think they might hurt them lol. Hope everyone is having a great day.

What a day It started out so good turned horrible, them good and I can't believe it when we got home!!!!!!

I guess I better start from the began.

A few months ago we organized with some friends who where coming up to stay from Tassy to meet at Dreamworld. This was to be a surprise for our boys, so far I had done well to keep the secret . On the way to Dreamworld I thought I would use my in car charger to charge the battery for my camera ( it came with the camera and I hadn't used it yet).
BANG that was the camera so no pictures to show you of our great day and the boys faces. They had the best day and no idea until we pulled in. Nicholas went on every ride and didn't stop smiling all day. John and I enjoyed the gentler rides and love seeing the Tigers.

The can't believe it came on our return home. We had left at 7 in the morning and returned at 8 pm to find our front door wide open AHHHHH . Some how in the rush to leave this morning we left the front door open . What can I say--------- today has really had its UPS and DOWNS.
How old do you have to be before I can say it was a senior moment?

I can not believe how fast the weeks are flying by at the moment, I feel like every time I blink I'm losing a day.
Well this week I have been busy quilting and working on my ho ho ho ho ( not allowed to talk about it just yet). I have also made a bag for my swap partner, hers is the one on the right with the lace and the other one is one I made for fun. I hope she likes it I wish I was going in its place a holiday would be nice at the moment. Happy sewing

I'm sure we have all started something with the best intention of finishing some time in the future. Well I am a big one for having a large U.F.O. pile and although I try to make this pile smaller, finding time and new fabrics do make it hard. I tend to get so sidetracked sometimes that the simplest of quilts can take up to 5 years to complete . I hate to say that this is the quilt that took me so long, but it's not my longest I still have one that is 6 years and ongoing.

It is called Jilly's Garden and my mum is now doing it . I'm sure she won't take as long as I did. I would love to hear what the longest time it has taken to finish your quilt? Now if I could just do something about the pile of tops waiting for me to quilt.
