Do you rip your borders ?
This is a customers quilt and although I don't see it often I do come across riped borders and I have to say I dislike the practice. I don't think it gives you a good finish with the quilt and it weakens the fabric as well along the edge.

Would be interested to hear what you all do and if you feel the same way as me .
Have a wonderful day.

  1. No i never rip borders. Always cut them. I feel as you do - that it weakens the fabric. Not to mention stretching it. Happy Stitching,

  2. Ripper or Cutter? It's a old debate isn't it, I always cut, no matter how long or wide. If I'm working in the quilt shop, same thing, never ever rip..

  4. Cut here also, ripping does weaken , stretch and puckers the material.
