Now hands up those of us that have a project that we sometimes do but are in no hurry to complete the type of project you take to your quilting group each week stitch 3 stitches on and then take home again ( because to busy talking )to do it all over again next week . Well I have one of these projects and I am pleased to say that the center is now completed and all I have to do is the boarders and all is done, well until I get to quilt it . I started this quilt 2 years ago and it has been a constant friend on my trips to quilting , doctors and general running around after the kids. It is not a hard quilt but a lovely quilt called "Amore" by Ann Gadsby Designs.
Now I have to figure out the second border weather to go pale or dark hummmmm . One thing I know is it wont take another 2 years for that decision, I feel a trip to my local quilt shop coming up Yippy and hubby not here to see what I buy oh this could be very very very bad .
Have a freat week sewing

Well as you all know Hubby is on his trip and like a lot of other Lady's sleep becomes a problem when the partner is away. Over the time I have found a few thing that help me to unwind and get some sleep , some of these range from knitting to puzzles. So of to my local opshop to have a look at some puzzles for me to do while Hubby was away.
Now I found this 2000 piece which I thought would last the 2 weeks.................................
Now imagine my surprise when I opened it up and found this ................................................
I can not understand this one bit, the person how owned this puzzle before me completed it and then when putting it away placed all the edges in a bag, the grass in another, sky and so on and so on a total of 6 bags. Somethings just leave you short of words . I don't know about the rest of you but when I finish the puzzle it gets tossed back on the box for the relaxing sort through next time I want to do it .
And as for the knitting well started a pair of socks but might only make the one so will be on the look out for a one legged person to give it to .
Have a great day and happy sewing

Have you ever brought a pattern and no matter how many times you read through that pattern you can't make any sense of it . Well this pattern was one of them. So in case like this the photo is the key, so with the help of the photo we now can see the stars .
I am hoping to get a lot of work done over the next few weeks as Hubby is off over to Germany to see family and friends for two weeks . I never sleep very well while he is away so great time to work on my own tings . Have to say am looking forward to it as I have been neglecting my own sewing at the moment. As for our training for the Bridge to Brisbane all is going well we are now running 14 km a day and just have to get my time down . I have really enjoyed running more than I would have thought and am thinking I might give a half marathon a go.
Hope you are all have a great week and happy sewing

To all the Emails I have received thank you, I and my family are all well although we are a bit over all this rain. The clean up has started in Brisbane and I am so proud to call my self a Aussie as people from all walks of life are putting on their Gumboots and grabbing their shovels to help remove all the mud and damaged possessions of complete strangers that where affected by the floods. Although I am unable at the moment to get down there to help I tried to give in other ways. I never thought I would live to see something this terrible in a place I love.
So with the sunshine today I decided to have a airing of the quilts as they really needed it with all the rain and humidity that has been around. Now on collecting all my quilts together I was amazed with how many I had .

What a fun week I have had I decided that I am going to do a queens size whole cloth in the coming week, but before I tackle that one I deiced to have a go at making a smaller one . I have to say what fun and I learned a lot, I'm sure I have more to learn but I know feel confident in taking on the queen size now. So what do you think ?

This is a close up of the center.
I have had a lot of fun with this quilt and it already has a home lol .They never stay long after they are finished , its getting to the stage where I have to frisk the family after they have been to visit.
The school holidays are coming to a close fast, which is sad but also good ( well for my sanity it is ). The boys have enjoyed them so far and now that the rain has stopped they are enjoying it more with trips to the beach . Happy sewing and I hope all have had a great start to the new year .
