Well it is nice to have some spare time to do something that I have wanted to do for a while. I spent today finishing of my first ever whole cloth quilt. I had great fun doing this and have learnt that wool batting would have given a better result than the cotton that I used. Have already started designing the next one.

There was a local craft fair this weekend in Caloundra and as I was there to help on Saturday morning I got to see all the nice things before they were all sold. As you can see I helped with some of the selling by buying these two paintings by a local painter Joyce Cooke. I think they will look good on the wall, just have to find a spot for them I do like our native flowers and banksia are lovely they grow along the beach fronts here on the sunshine coast. So they always remind me of the sea.

What a lovely day we had today my mum and mother in law both came to have lunch with us for mothers day. It was a nice day for all , I'm very lucky to have my mum, who means the world to me.
Well I have been busy this week with a quilt done for my nephew. He likes to go camping and I made him a star quilt so he can always sleep under the stars. As you can see red and blue are his favourite colours. Only one more quilt to make before next week. I'm so excited my sister and family arrive from Tasmania for their holiday.
I would like to wish all mothers out there a happy Mothers Day and I hope that the coffee is hot and the toast is not burnt. I live in hope every year, may be this is the year. I love my boys with all my heart but they are lousy cooks.

I love the cooler mornings that we are starting to have. Its nice to walk the dog and feel the cold in the air . I know its not the same for everyone but I do like the weather a lot more this time of the year in Queensland than in summer. I enjoy spending more time in the garden trying to tackle the weeds into submission ,they always seem to have the upper hand.

I found these seedlings growing in the rock paths around the back of my house last month and thought they were mock orange bushes so I carefully transplanted them into potting mix I especially bought for them. I have cared and watered these plants for a month ,only to be told yesterday that they were WEEDS.

WEEDS ARE SNEAKY BUGGERS

A few weeks ago my local quilting group had a folding flower's class which I decided to do. As it is something new to learn and I am always trying to learn new things about quilting. I may not be perfect at it but I am always willing to have a go. It was a great time to be had by all with lots of laughter and crying when the flowers looked more like a seed pod . Well here is my attempt of a vase filled with Dogwood and Pomegranate's'

I think the real ones would look better. Nature has had a lot more practise than me which is a good thing.

Hello I hope everyone has had a happy and safe Easter and ate your fill of chocolate (I know I did). I know it's been a long time between blogs and I am sorry about that, but as you can see I have been busy. The top quilt is for one of my nieces as well as the one below, my sister is coming in May with her family from Tasmania and I am hoping to have a quilt for my 3 nieces and nephew done (two down two more to go)

Lillian sent my quilt back last month its for my Auntie Julie for her 50th birthday. The birthday was last year and she has been waiting for her quilt since then , it spent some time in Tassie as a shop sample. I thought you might like to see it before it goes to it's new home. I enjoyed everything about this quilt from making to quilting it.
Hugs for now
